The Opposite of the Snowflake

It seems like we live in a snowflakes world. What is a snowflake? For this article, I’ll define it as a person that gets offended easily, and that also believes that the world should have some decency and behave in the ways that they’d like to be treated.

Fair, we all deserve decent treatment, given that we are surrounded by supposedly same species creatures. But that clearly is not the way the world works.

When I was in high school, I couldn’t take “shit” from the other kids. I wasn’t completely dorky, but I had a hard time getting the jokes and the nuances of the interactions. It got to a point where, one day, or for an entire week, I don’t really remember, they began to call me “rarito” in Spanish, which in English would be “weirdy” or something like it. It could be seen in my face that I didn’t like the nickname, so they called me like that until I burst with anger.

It was a hard and weird experience. I dreaded going to school. I knew that a long day of shit awaited me. They pushed me and pushed me until one day I got up and punch a guy in the face. The whole classroom was watching excitedly. It…
