“Who you are, what you think, feel, and do, what you love — is the sum of what you focus on.”
Cal Newport

Ok, time, I believe your most important asset is time. But, what do you have time for? To do things, right? And what do you use within your time to do things? Attention.

It is a valuable asset. So valuable, that modern fortunes are being made from it. I’m talking about Facebook and Instagram.

It’s a tricky thing. So many things demand your attention, from your cellphone to your brother, mother, or child. So you don’t even notice that you’re not using it.

I want to share with you some advice I wrote in my diary in the morning.

That is, no matter how big or difficult the problem is, you can handle it as long as you’re able to laser-focus your attention towards the problem and its resolution.

You don’t need do anything else to do anything other than directing your attention. That’s the real practice you see, your capacity to assess something without distractions. Do that, and eventually you’ll penetrate through the problem just like a laser beam.

Why is your attention your most important asset? Well, first, because it is yours to use, second, because you can solve things and create things with it, and third, because people that can concentrate are scarce.

Try it! Turn off the music and get to work on something and nothing else for half an hour, see how far you get.

Hope this tiny reflection helps you as much as it helped me.

Thanks for reading,
